Cupcake Crawl: Orange County

Right about now you might be wondering, “What in the world is a Cupcake Crawl?!?” And I’d have to say this…

Perfection.

Deliciousness.

A genius idea.

So I’m pretty sure you get the idea 😉

If you’re new here to Girl on the Move, here’s something you should know…I am OBSESSED with cupcakes!  A few months ago I saw a post somewhere on social media about a pub crawl and realized that what would make a pub crawl better is that instead of traveling from one pub to the next, you traveled from one cupcake shop to the next!

And so the idea for a Cupcake Crawl was born!

For this first crawl I teamed up with Pavé Group to host this awesome afternoon.  We journeyed through Orange County, CA along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) so our crawl not only included fantastic cupcakes, but ocean views!

Our first stop was French’s Cupcake Bakery in Costa Mesa, where we tried several delicious cupcakes.  My favorite was the Lemon Blueberry and if the lines were any indication, French’s won Best Bakery in Orange County in 2015 for good reason!

From there we traveled to B Candy! You might remember my trip to B Candy a couple of years ago…well, they’ve only gotten better!  I mean, these sprinkles though!  A visit to B Candy is not only delicious, but a visual treat!  Filled with ice cream, dessert novelty items, cupcake stools at the counter and a unicorn mural on the outside, B Candy is a must-see if you’re in the Corona del Mar/Newport Beach, CA area!

And finally we headed over to Sweet & Saucy Shop in Newport Beach! This is where my cupcake affair began so they had to be a stop on the tour.  And they did not disappoint!  The cake pops are always a hit but this visit my favorite was probably the Strawberry cupcake…so yummy!

I am confident our first Cupcake Crawl was a big success and I have to say, I’m already dreaming and planning about when I can organize another Cupcake Crawl, so I’d love to hear…where should I take the Cupcake Crawl next?!?

  1. I want to go on a cupcake crawl! Cupcakes are my weakness and I would literally live on them if I could.

    1. Cupcakes are most definitely my weakness…I’ve been to nearly 100 cupcake shops around the country!

  2. This sounds like so much fun! I love the idea of going to bakeries instead of bars. I’m going to try to do this in my town! 🙂

  3. These cupcakes all look delicious. I love the rainbow one, and the cake pop! Even though I love cupcakes, I haven’t had one in quite some time sadly!

  4. The sprinkled rainbow cupcake is so pretty! You should head up north and stop by Miglet’s cupcakes… they are gluten free but you wouldn’t know. My favorite? Blueberry lemon or salted caramel. YUM!

  5. Fun and cupcakes! What more could a girl ask for? I have never been on a cupcake crawl but I know for a fact that I would love it. Cupcakes are my kryptonite.

  6. We only have one cupcake shop here in Charleston but we could do a sweets crawl and add in the fancy donut shop. 🙂 That strawberry cupcake looks delicious.

  7. Now that sounds like a fun idea. A cupcake crawl instead of pub crawl. I’m not sure how it would work in our little town … I don’t think we even have bakeries outside of the grocery store … but it sounds like fun if you live in a bigger place.

  8. I’m pretty sure you need to plan the next one for when I’m in the states. But really. It’s pretty much mandatory. Also, love that you go with a group and can all have little tastes of everything if you share!

  9. Hey JULIE!
This sounds like a divine day!! Cupcakes are so pretty! My sister in law went through an obsessional stage too and it was so much fun finding her new cute cupcake recipe books to try!
    Lotsa love xo

  10. Brilliant idea!! I live in an area where there are several cupcake festivals through the year. I also am fortunate to have several professional cupcake makers for my friends. 😉

  11. I sure do love the idea of this! I know there are some amazing cupcake places in D.C. but I haven’t ever been to them. My mom has a favorite in VA that she likes to bring me to. Come out here, and we’ll crawl together. =)

  12. I have to say that was my reaction when I saw the tittle cupcake crawl’s, I was what is that!! But after reading that sounds like something I would love doing although I am supposed to be on a diet lol… but I love love cupcakes what can say.

  13. Ahhh perfect timing for this. I’m planning a cali trip and wanted to stop in orange county. these cupcakes are the motivation to get me to the OC!

  14. I am dying to go on a cupcake crawl–I hope I can find one close to me. Looks like yall had some really tasty treats on your OC tour!

  15. Oh, Julie. I’m not sure right now if I’m gonna love you for this excellent idea or if I’m gonna hate you for making me seriously crave for cupcakes. 😀 Yum!

  16. I did this with a friend once in Chicago! It was amazing. I’ve never seen someone else do it, so your blog post made me smile 🙂 We had such a fun adventure. Great to read about yours too 🙂
