April 2014 Foodie Penpal
I am all about trying new things (hence the reason I write a blog meant to inspire you to try new things!) and so the Foodie Penpal program hosted each month by Lindsay over at the Lean Green Bean is perfect because each month I get to try new foods from all over the country!
This month I was paired with Allie and I was pretty excited when I learned that she didn’t live too far from my brother in South Carolina! I love visiting him, so I was looking forward to getting some Carolina goodies!
And Allie did not disappoint! She sent me some local honey which is awesome because I absolutely LOVE honey! I’ve already used it to bake muffins and in my breakfast oatmeal! She also sent me some local grits because like Allie said, “There is nothing like some southern shrimp-n-grits!”…how did she know I love shrimp?!? Finally she included some student mix from USC…this is not to be confused with the USC Trojans that are by my house, the mix she sent represents the USC Gamecocks!
I can’t wait to see who I am paired with next month and what goodies I’ll receive! You can also participate, just head over to the Foodie Penpal page to sign up!
Do you know any other pen pal type programs like this one that I can try?
