Be Inspired: Amanda
It is my hope that you leave this blog feeling inspired. Whether you spend 2 minutes reading the blog every month or check the blog on a daily basis, it is my hope that when you click away from my site you leave inspired. Inspired to try something new. Inspired to step out of your comfort zone. Inspired to embrace a new challenge. Inspired to make a difference. Inspired to dream big and chase those dreams. Inspired to live life a little bit different. Inspired to be the best you possible. This series introduces you to people and stories that inspire me and it is my hope that they will inspire you as well.
Y’all I’m back with the next installment of the Be Inspired series! I first found Amanda on social media and love all of her training tips and running inspiration. This Spring she hosted a Spring Bootie Buster Challenge that was phenomenal and I loved connecting with other people and challenging myself. An added bonus is that since Amanda lives on the east coast she has already posted about her morning runs by the time I wake up which is incredibly motivating to me! You’ll want to head over to her blog for training tips, recipes, fitness reviews, motivation, and more! You can connect with Amanda to talk running on Twitter and Facebook and be sure to check out her website!
What dream are you currently pursuing?
In someways I would say it depends on the day! HA! My true goal is to create a life I love and over the last two years that has meant learning to go with the flow of life. Secondary to that I’m dreaming a lot about moving to San Diego!
What is your biggest dream?
Fitness wise it’s to still be running with a smile when I’m 80+ and convincing my friends that it’s a good idea!
What accomplishment are you most proud of in your life?
Honestly…running. Not a particular race, but truly just running. It’s not something that comes naturally to me and the fact that I have found a way to love doing it and doing it my own way means a lot to me. After that would be taking the leap to blog full time and making it truly work!
Who has been an inspiration to you and how have they inspired you?
I’m not big on idols because I know no one is perfect, so I admire a lot of people for different attributes. My father for being so patient, my husband for rolling with the punches, Carla Birnberg {MizFit} for being apologetically herself, Carrie Underwood for being courageous enough to follow her dream and still remain down to Earth….really I could keep going. 🙂 I like people.
How do you handle obstacles that arise as you pursue your dreams?
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to embrace them most of the time. I realize now that every hard time I’ve gone through has taught me something and better prepared me to succeed the next time around.
Can you share five interesting facts about yourself?
My favorite movie theater treat is Hot Tamales or Twizzlers, maybe that’s why we rarely go!
If I could have been good at one sport, I wish I would have been a pro beach volleyball player!
I’ve wanted to be a writer as long as I can remember. I started writing stories at a very early age.

You picked a good un’ to be inspired by here, I love Amanda! Interesting to learn more about you, and I never put you down as a twirler girl 😉 I was seeing more of a reeses pieces. I love that you said just running is what you are proud of. That is so true, we often take for granted that we can even get out the door and do it. I know I take my running ability for granted way too much, but posts like this, remind me that I need to appreciate it more, especially with all mine has done 🙂 Thanks Julie 🙂

San Diego? ME TOO! If we could make enough money to have the same lifestyle we currently have and move to San Diego, I would go in a heartbeat. The cost of living out there scares me though.

As a resident of Southern California I can tell you that the cost of living is a little bit scary, but the weather is amazing!!!

The sad reality is, Chicago is just as expensive as Southern California and our weather sucks!!!

I will fully agree that we have better weather!
