Be Inspired: Heather
I first “met” Heather through another blogger about a month ago. Pam shared Heather’s touching story on her blog and after reading the post I connected with Heather via email. Every time I read her story I am again inspired to truly live life to the fullest. Shortly after giving birth to her daughter Heather was diagnosed with cancer…a type with a low survival rate. She not only survived but as you’ll read below, she’s thriving in life with just one lung! I would encourage you to read Heather’s story to be encouraged and inspired.
You can connect with Heather on her website, Twitter, and Facebook…and I guarantee you’ll be inspired by her story and how she lives life!
It is my hope that you leave this blog feeling inspired. Whether you spend 2 minutes reading the blog every month or check the blog on a daily basis, it is my hope that when you click away from my site you leave inspired. Inspired to try something new. Inspired to step out of your comfort zone. Inspired to embrace a new challenge. Inspired to make a difference. Inspired to dream big and chase those dreams. Inspired to live life a little bit different. Inspired to be the best you possible. This series introduces you to people and stories that inspire me and it is my hope that they will inspire you as well.
Meet Heather (and her family)…
What dream are you currently pursuing?
We just threw our 9th annual Lungleavin Day Celebration. which was attended by over 100 of our closest friends and family and raised $6000 for mesothelioma research. After the fundraiser, I always step back, and dream about what we will do next year to make it bigger and better… so that is sort of always on my “dream” radar.. but perhaps the actual dream I’m going to pursue , is something I’ve been thinking about for years now, but this is the year I’m actually pursuing it… and this is the first time I’ve committed to it and put it in print, so now its official… A book. I’m going to write my book! EEEEK!!!
What is your biggest dream?
It’s simple really… to grow old with my husband, and meet my grandkids.
What accomplishment are you most proud of in your life?
Surviving Cancer, and not only surviving with one lung, but thriving in life with one lung.
Who has been an inspiration to you and how have they inspired you?
My mom. She is just so wise, and so rock steady in her faith and her belief. she always keeps me grounded…
How do you handle obstacles that arise as you pursue your dreams?
Depends on what it is. I would say I meet them head on, and try to get through it… I ask for help and use my resources.
Can you share five interesting facts about yourself?
I am a little obsessed with French Bulldogs, I follow dozens of accounts with French Bulldogs on Instagram,
I have small addiction (borderline obsession ) to Pirate’s Booty puff corn.. I have to have a few handfuls every night before I go to bed, and get sad when the bag is empty. …
Any time the movie Love Actually, or About a Boy is on, I have to stop what I’m doing and watch it. I love Hugh Grant.
I used to hate the color blue… until my daughter came along and her favorite color is blue, now I love it.
I’m terrified of bats. Not baseball bats, the flying kind… they creep me out.
I’d love to hear, who inspires you?
