The Rest of My Life

Be Inspired: Jared

I first came across Jared’s website (Click here to visit Tone-and-Tighten.com.) last summer when I was looking for some fresh workout ideas…and was instantly hooked!  His site is filled with tons of workouts and one of my favorite parts is that they don’t all require a gym and lots of equipment…which means there are no excuses to not workout!

And here’s the great news…if you feel overwhelmed and aren’t really sure what workouts you should do, when you should do them, how many you need to do a week, etc then his new e-books are the solution for you!  You can choose from the beginner or advanced versions of the 8-week workout guide designed to help you take your fitness to the next level (or get moving if you’ve never worked out before!)…bottom line, I would HIGHLY recommend checking out these two amazing e-books and be inspired by Jared’s desire to see more people get in shape, be active and feel more confident!

You can connect with Jared on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook or on his website (Click here to visit Tone-and-Tighten.com.)

It is my hope that you leave this blog feeling inspired.  Whether you spend 2 minutes reading the blog every month or check the blog on a daily basis, it is my hope that when you click away from my site you leave inspired.  Inspired to try something new.  Inspired to step out of your comfort zone.  Inspired to embrace a new challenge.  Inspired to make a difference.  Inspired to dream big and chase those dreams.  Inspired to live life a little bit different.  Inspired to be the best you possible.  This series introduces you to people and stories that inspire me and it is my hope that they will inspire you as well.

Meet Jared…

What dream are you currently pursuing?

At this point in my life, my current dream is just to help more people get in shape, get active, and feel better about themselves. I love being an instrument that can change people’s lives for better, both through physical therapy and a healthy lifestyle. My website is the perfect platform for me to share that message and I love it!

What is your biggest dream?

Bringing health and fitness into the lives of as many people as possible – I am passionate about helping people and I would love for a healthy lifestyle to be something that is part of everyone’s lives. I hope that people who visit my website find at least one post that they can connect with and that hopefully sparks a healthy change in their lives.

What accomplishment are you most proud of in your life?

One of my biggest dreams came true this year – I was able to turn my blogging hobby into a career. I left my full-time job as a physical therapist and now only work 2-3 days a week as a physical therapist. The rest of my time is spent at home with my family and working on my website, which I have become quite passionate about. I love helping my patients become more active and feel better about themselves in the clinic and it has been so fun to be able to broaden my reach outside the clinic with my website.

Who has been an inspiration to you and how have they inspired you?

My wife has been a big inspiration to me. She is a great example to me of a loving parent, supportive spouse, and a hard worker. She started me on this blog journey and has been so encouraging as I have grown and made some big career choices.

How do you handle obstacles that arise as you pursue your dreams?

I think that at some point, every person is going to run into obstacles. It’s what you do when you encounter those obstacles that makes all the difference. I once heard a quote that has stuck with me ever since: “When obstacles arise, you change your direction to get to your goal; you do not change your decision to get there.” -Zig Ziglar

You take them one obstacle at a time and learn to roll with the punches. Every obstacle you overcome will make you that much stronger – power through!

Can you share five interesting facts about yourself?

-Even though I am a health blogger, I hate seafood.
-I was on my high school golf team.
-I am allergic to bunnies (much to my children’s disappointment).
-I go over to Europe once a year as a volunteer to fit people for wheelchairs to would not be able to afford one or need a replacement. My church supplies all the wheelchairs for free. It’s an amazing experience.
-I have a fake front tooth because my little brother knocked it out while we were playing football.

I hope Jared inspires you!  What is your favorite way to workout?
