Breakfast in Denver

Breakfast in Denver | Girl on the Move Blog I recently had the opportunity to spend some time in Denver and let me tell y’all…they sure know how to do food!  The great food must be the reward for being a city teeming with fitness opportunities (more on this in a later post!).  Even though I wanted to, in deference to my waistline, I did not eat every meal out…so I made sure the ones I did eat out counted!  My absolutely favorite meal of the day is breakfast so today I’m going to share three restaurants that you absolutely must go to for breakfast the next time you’re in Denver!

Snooze, an AM Eatery

1. Snooze, an A.M. Eatery – This was not my first time to Snooze, and it will not be my last!  The creativity in their menu continues to amaze me and I have one tip for you…go at 7am because otherwise you just might have to wait for a while!  The wait will be worth it, but if you go early you can avoid the wait and get their yummy goodness into your belly faster!  Snooze’s menu features a Breakfast Pot Pie (absolutely amazing), a variety of Benedict recipes, a delectable collection of pancakes and O.M.G. French Toast that is truly oh-em-gee!!!

The great thing is that with 9 locations in 3 states (and 3 more coming soon!) Denver isn’t your only chance at checking out Snooze!  If you ever want to go to the Snooze in San Diego let me know because I’m always looking for an excuse to eat at Snooze!

2. Denver Biscuit Company – Y’all, this place was life changing!  A friend had recommended this place and since she has never steered me wrong when it comes to food I decided to try it out.  Best. Decision. Ever.  Seriously, why has it never occurred to me to take a giant flaky biscuit, turn it into a cinnamon roll, top it with cream cheese frosting and then throw some bacon on it for good measure?!?  There’s also Biscuit French Toast and Biscuit Sandwiches that are out of this world!  We had one of the best servers I have ever had at a restaurant and I wish this was closer to me so I could go again soon!  P.S. They also have a Biscuit Bus…think they’d travel to CA?!?

Jelly Cafe

3. Jelly Cafe – When I walked in and saw the vintage cereal boxes lining the walls, I knew I was in for a treat!  The same friend that recommended Denver Biscuit Co took me to Jelly and again confirmed that she is always to be trusted with food recommendations!  How can you wrong when the menu offers donut bites in maple bacon, salted caramel, and Thai peanut?!?  And the outstanding menu just continues with pancakes (including bacon pancakes…you know my brother wishes he had eaten here!), Benedicts, stuffed French toast and more!  The perfect way to start your day!

What’s your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
