BONES TV Workout

If you’ve been around Girl on the Move for a while then you’ll know I love a good tv workout!  There’s just something about working out while you watch a tv show that makes you feel a little less guilty.  Since Bones on Fox is one of my favorite tv shows (I could re-watch Bones and Friends over and over!) I thought it was time I created a Bones TV workout!

As with most of my posts, this post may contain affiliate or referral links.

From the pilot episode (go buy the season one dvd’s if you haven’t yet seen this show…season one) Booth, Dr. Brennan and the rest of the team have entertained us while solving some of the craziest (and seemingly unsolvable!) crimes…all while making us want to invite their characters over for Christmas dinner. So whether you are currently watching the final season or are binge watching the first 11 seasons (because you really should make sure you watch…and maybe re-watch…all the episodes!) enjoy a great workout while you watch…guilt-free!

Don't be the person who skips the gym and just watches TV! Instead, exercise while you watch Booth, Bones & the rest of the team with this Bones tv workout.
fyi: My goal was to create a workout that would work for all of the seasons, so some character references (Zach Addy, Lance Sweets) are removed since using them in the workout would allow you to shorten your workout depending which season you were watching…and we can’t have that!

I’d love to hear what you think of the Bones TV workout in the comments below…and what other things should be added to the list?

Gilmore Girls Workout

One of my favorite shows to binge watch is Gilmore Girls.  There is just something about getting caught up in the lives of the unique characters of Stars Hollow that leaves you watching one episode after the next!  But if you’re going to watch a lot of Lorelai and Rory, don’t just sit on the couch…do this Gilmore Girls workout while you watch!

As with most of my posts, some links may be affiliate links. This means at no additional cost to you, I may make a small commission on anything you buy through the link. You don’t pay anything extra, but you help support your favorite blog with something you would have bought anyways.

Even though Lorelai and Rory sit on the couch and eat junk food while watching movies, if you’re having a Gilmore Girls marathon a few push-ups isn’t a bad idea!  So, whether you are team Dean, Jess or Logan, this Gilmore Girls workout is for you!

Lorelai and Rory go to Luke’s…10 squats.  This means you’ll be doing squats at least once an episode!

Friday dinner at the Gilmore’s…10 crunches.  You’ll be able to crunch your way through the sometimes awkward Friday night dinner.

Anyone drinks coffee…5 push ups.  By the end of the seven seasons your arms will look amazing!!!

Kirk performs another new job…5 burpees.  I think by the end of the series Kirk had worked at every establishment in town!

Lorelai and Rory quote a movie…10 tricep dips.  These girls know their movies and always have a quote ready to go!

Who is your favorite Gilmore Girls character?

p.s. I’m also really excited about Lauren Graham’s upcoming book and the Gilmore Girls Revival…November will be an awesome month in the land of Gilmore Girls!

Whether you are team Dean, Jess or Logan, or spend your time quoting Lorelai and Rory, or rooting for Lorelai & Luke, this Gilmore Girls workout is for you!

Summertime Healthy Habits

Every January people everywhere sit down and plot out their goals and resolutions for the upcoming year.  Many of those people have some type of goal or resolution related to losing weight or getting in shape by summer.  But then by the time summer comes, they’ve forgotten all about their health goals!  So I’ve partnered with Bob’s Red Mill to give you some healthy habits for summer time!

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!!  With higher temperatures in the summer it’s incredibly important to stay hydrated at all times.  I keep a bottle of water in my bag when I’m out and about, have one on my desk and just generally make a point to grab a glass of water as often as possible…even if I don’t feel thirsty!

Head outdoors.  During the winter it can be difficult to head outdoors to workout since it can be cold, snowy, dark, and just generally yucky weather.  In the summer you should head outside!  Go for a walk after dinner, head out stand-up paddle boarding with friends, arrange games at the local park, and just do anything that gets you active outside.

Get creative.  Don’t just run on the treadmill for all of your workouts…get creative!  Do a quick search on Pinterest for beach workouts, or park workouts, or group workouts and then go do them!  Try a new class, try a new activity, do something that gets your body moving in a new way!

Fuel yourself well.  This summer I tried out several protein shake combinations and let me just say…yum!!!!  Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods produces more than 400 products, including a full line of certified gluten free products and an extensive line of certified organic products.  In a season of travel, cookouts, and backyard parties it can be easy to eat too much of the wrong thing…so make sure you’re starting your day, or finishing off a workout, with a nutritional smoothie!

Yogurt Popsicles for a Healthy Treat

When you live in Southern California, like I do, popsicles are a fun treat year round!  I may or may not have a small obsession with Chobani Flips so I decided to make a popsicle inspired by the Key Lime Crumble Flip and oh boy was it yummy!  The great thing about these yogurt popsicles is that they are not only refreshing, but they’re also pretty healthy…a win win!!

Enjoy these delicious yogurt popsicles

As with most of my posts, some links may be affiliate links. This means at no additional cost to you, I may make a small commission on anything you buy through the link. You don’t pay anything extra, but you help support your favorite blog with something you would have bought anyways.

To create your own you’ll need…

*1 single-serving Key Lime Yogurt (I used Chobani Greek Yogurt Simply 100 Key Lime, 5.3 Ounce)

*Popsicle maker of your choice (I use a Zoku Quick Pop Maker but you can use any one you’d like…or just use small paper cups!

*4 T half & half

*Graham cracker crumbs

*Finely chopped yogurt chips

Then you’ll need to…

*Mix together the yogurt and the half & half

*Pour 1/3 of the yogurt mix into your popsicle mold

*Add a small layer of graham cracker crumbs

*Pour 1/3 of the yogurt mix into your popsicle mold

*Add a small layer of chopped yogurt chips

*Pour the remaining yogurt mix into your popsicle mold

*Freeze and then enjoy!  (p.s. the reason I love my Zoku is because these can be ready to eat in less than 10 minutes!!!)

To make the Mango Yogurt Popsicles I mixed a single-serving mango yogurt with 4 T half & half and simply poured the mixture into my popsicle mold.  The great thing is you can create ANY flavored popsicle you like…just choose your favorite flavor yogurt, mix in 4 T half & half, freeze, and GO!

What is your favorite popsicle flavor?
