Chicago’s Pierrot Gourmet

On today’s Travel Thursday adventure we’re headed to one of my favorite US cities…Chicago!  On a recent trip to Chicago I had the opportunity to tour The Peninsula Chicago and sample the dessert menu of on-site restaurant Pierrot Gourmet.  Here’s my travel advice to you…if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Chicago (and are not on a tight budget) I would highly recommend The Peninsula.  If you’re on a tighter budget and can’t stay here, I would suggest at least stopping by for an afternoon treat at Pierrot Gourmet.  The little French cafe is absolutely adorable and with outdoor seating available it is the perfect afternoon stop during your tour of Chicago!

I can’t say enough good things about the beyond delicious selection of desserts and the talents of Executive Pastry Chef Dimitri Fayard are out of this world.  The creations he dreams up for the holidays are simply amazing and every dessert I tried was outstanding!

Macarons at The Peninsula Chicago's Pierrot Gourmet

Since this is a French cafe it only seemed fitting to try a sampling of the macarons and while I enjoyed quite a few of them, my favorite was the Peanut Butter & Jelly  macaron…it’s just a flavor combination that goes well together!

Whether you stop by in the winter to enjoy the outdoor ice rink, enjoy the children’s holiday tea with Mrs. Claus, take part in a springtime brunch at one of the on-site restaurants, or book a spa treatment in the gorgeous spa, your time at The Peninsula Chicago is sure to leave you with many fabulous memories!

I received complimentary desserts but all opinions are my own!

After an afternoon of yummy desserts I was definitely ready for a run along the Lake!  What is your favorite dessert?  What is your favorite thing to do in Chicago?
