I’ve Never Been to Vegas, But My Luggage Has
A couple of years ago I came across The Single Woman, and even though I can’t remember how I came across the blog, I know that Mandy has been an inspiration to me since I started reading her blog and tweets. If someone asked me to make a list of five living people that I’d most like to have dinner with, one of them would be Mandy! After reading The Single Woman: Life, Love, and a Dash of Sass last summer, I couldn’t wait to read her newest book, I’ve Never Been to Vegas, but My Luggage Has!
So when the opportunity came up to be on the official Single Woman Launch Crew I couldn’t pass up the chance to read the book before it was officially released! Once I started reading the book, I couldn’t put it down! Mandy’s vulnerability in opening up about her struggles, adventures, and victories reminded me that I am not alone on this journey of being single, even when others think you should already be married. The book made me laugh, cry, and think about not only the choices I am making, but my attitude towards those choices.
Lately I’ve been feeling a desire to embrace life and chase my big dreams so I knew the book was going to be just the inspiration I needed when Mandy wrote in chapter one, “It is my hope that my story will inspire you to go out and live your own story a little more boldly and fearlessly.” I had approximately 73 aha moments while I read the book, but my biggest takeaway was that life is not about trying to find a, “Happy Ending” with a husband, but instead finding a, “Happy Everything”, even if that doesn’t include a husband!
Here are a couple more of my 73 aha moments from the book and I hope you are inspired to order your own copy today!
