Links I’m Loving #9

#1 – I am a firm believer in having a mentor and a mentee (is that even a real word?!?) in your life because I think it is so important to be able to learn from someone who has more life experience than you do and to pass on wisdom you’ve gained through your life experiences.  One of our Thirty-One Gives national partners is Girl Talk and they had a great article on the importance of having a mentor.  I would encourage you to look for a way to be a mentor in your community.

#2 – My word of the year for 2014 is intentional.  I think that social media can easily cause us to become very un-intentional with our time and one blogger shares why social media is dangerous.  Take a step back from Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Snapchat, Google Plus, etc and instead spend time intentionally building relationships with real live people, places, and activities!

#3  – On my list of 2014 resolutions is, “Learn Kreyol”  It might seem random but my sister is fluent in Kreyol and her husband is Haitian and also fluent in Kreyol so I feel like it would be good to learn.  So my sister is putting together a series on her blog to help me learn…what a great sister!

#4 – Did you know the Newport Beach Restaurant Week is happening right now?!?  Stay tuned to see where we decided to eat!  And the Orange County Restaurant Week is coming soon…I just love restaurant week and have great memories of dinner with my girlfriends in Philly for restaurant week!

#5 – Since sugar is often the culprit behind weight gain I can see the appeal for wanting to consume a comfort snack, gummy bears, without all of the added sugar.  But sometimes sugarless = really bad.  My mom sent me this link reviewing these sugarless gummy bears and it is laugh out loud funny…particularly the “My Dinner with Andrea” review!
