Month in Review – November 2013

I absolutely LOVE Christmas!  The problem with that, is that I sometimes forget about November :/  This year I made a conscious effort to enjoy November without letting Christmas creep in too early by focusing on what I am thankful for this year!

This month our family celebrated my cousin Scott’s wedding to his beautiful bride Becca.  I absolutely loved getting to spend time with my extended family and truly enjoyed the beauty of Hood River, Oregon.  I hope that I can take another trip up to the Pacific Northwest when I have little more time to see the sights.

My sister is back in town from Haiti and this marks the first time in ten years that we live in the same town!  Needless to say, I am loving the sister-time 🙂  We celebrated her homecoming with a trip to Slater’s 50/50 Burgers (how lucky are we that this restaurant is only a block from my house?!?)  Although we didn’t have their signature 50/50 burger (1/2 beef, 1/2 bacon!), our meals were yummy!  My sister had the Buffalo Chicken Mac’N Cheese…which comes topped with crushed Cheez-Its…how genius is that?!?

Sometimes I wonder how we crafted, cooked, decorated, dressed, or planned parties before Pinterest?!?  I think I pinned these pumpkins last Fall but just now had the opportunity to make them…in time to be our Thanksgiving centerpiece!  Instead of using pages from an old book I decided to use several patterns of orange washi tape, and I love how they turned out!!!

Pumpkins - Before Pumpkins - AfterNovember has been a truly wonderful month, but now it is time for to celebrate the most wonderful time of year!
