Skillet S’mores
I have to tell you up front, I’m not sure if there are enough adjectives to describe the goodness that is this s’mores dessert! If you are making plans for Valentine’s Day, a girls night in, date night or have just had a rough week…this dessert is for you! And here’s one thing I’ve learned in my experience with s’mores…they are almost always better when peanut butter is added…so these skillet s’mores don’t just feature chocolate, but also peanut butter!!!
Do you see the chocolate and peanut butter peeking through?!?
The great thing about this recipe, is that it is super easy! Like we’re talking less than fifteen minutes to prep and cook!
I spread 2 cups of chocolate chips at the bottom of my cast iron skillet and topped them with about 3/4 cups of peanut butter chips…next time I might do a whole cup because let’s be honest, more peanut butter is always better!
Then I cut the big marshmallows in half and placed them cut-side down on top of the chocolate and peanut butter chips. And that’s it for the prep…told y’all it would be easy! I put the skillet in the oven at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes to melt the chips and toast the marshmallows.
Then it was time to dig in! We used graham crackers as our dippers although I might have been content with just a spoon!
And if you’re now craving all things chocolate and marshmallow, head over to Pinterest to check out my board devoted to S’mores…there is just so much goodness there! We’re talking s’more sandwiches, desserts, cupcakes, granola and so much more!
