Blog Staycation April 2016

It’s that time again…time for the next Blog Staycation!!!  We host the Blog Staycation a couple of times a year and let me just tell you…this virtual blog conference and retreat is one of my favorite weekends of the year.  I love taking time to invest in my blog…all without leaving my home (at least not further than the coffee shop on the corner by my house!) to network with other bloggers, cross items off my lengthy blogging to do list, and learn new blogging strategies to help me continue growing my blog.  You can sign up for the Staycation HERE.

Blog Staycation - A virtual blog conference and retreat
We launched the Staycation back in August of 2014 because while blog conferences are amazing it’s sometimes difficult to find the time to go away for a conference or to pull together the financial resources needed to attend.  Additionally, blog conferences are all about learning (which is awesome), but most of the time, they are not about doing.  So this virtual blog conference and retreat is designed to help you connect, learn and most importantly, take action on your blog.  And the best part is, the weekend is free!  If you’re interested in joining us for the next Staycation (April 28-May 1), you can sign up HERE and then you can look forward to your welcome email!

A few details: Since this is a virtual blog conference you’ll receive a daily email with helpful information and then you’ll have the chance to connect through Twitter parties, Facebook chats and NEW this time…mastermind groups!  There will also be giveaways during the weekend so you’ll have the chance to win tools for growing your blog.  Whether you are a brand new blogger (or haven’t even started your blog yet), the Blog Staycation is for YOU!

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below and I’d love to hear in the comments if you sign up!

Blog Staycation: It’s a Wrap!

I don’t think I’ve ever met a blogger who didn’t have a to do list a mile long.  There are posts to write, brands to contact, pitches to put together, social media updates, and the list goes on and on…so what’s a blogger to do?!?  I was in that exact position a year ago so I teamed up with a couple of other bloggers and we created the Blog Staycation.  The purpose is to create a dedicated amount of time for bloggers to work on simple updates, connect with other bloggers, share blogging resources, learn from other bloggers and tackle their blogging to do lists…all from the comfort of their own home…or their local coffee shop!  We’ve grown since our first Staycation a year ago and now bloggers from around the world take part and we officially host three Staycations a year (January, late spring, and September)

This past weekend was our third round of the Blog Staycation and as we wrap up this one, we already looking ahead to round 4.  So, mark your calendars for our next Blog Staycation…January 14-17, 2016…that’s right, it’s time to start making plans for 2016!!!  If you’re interested in joining us, take a quick minute to fill out this form so we can keep you updated as we get closer!

Now on to what I was able to accomplish during the Blog Staycation…

Most of what I did is not visible here on the blog, (I updated some tags and categories but you’d probably need to be a super sleuth to find them!) but is pretty awesome none the less!

  • One of my blogging dreams is to host blogging retreats…ideally a series of retreats around the country…but I’ll start with one!  So I used this weekend to put together a tentative plan to make this dream a reality
  • I did some behind the scenes work on my new travel link up…Be Inspired: Travel Tales…and if you have any travel related posts on your blog or you just need to take a virtual vacation, this is the link up for you!
  • Worked on my plan for using Periscope the next few months…if you want to see how this turns out be sure to follow me on Periscope…@jmdenouden
  • Wrote several blog posts

I’d love to hear from you…What are your thoughts on a blogging retreat?  What is something on your blogging to do list? Have you been using Periscope…if you have, let’s connect!

Now here’s a look at what other bloggers did during the Blog Staycation…

Who hosts the Blog Staycation?

I co-host the Staycation along with two fabulous other bloggers…Jen from JENerally Informed and Trish from The Trish List

When is the Blog Staycation?

Mark your calendars for our third round of the Blog Staycation which will be September 10-13!

Blog Staycation
What’s different this time from the first two times?

In the past we’ve done various Twitter and Facebook chats and while those have been great this time we’re taking it to another level…we’re bringing in experts!  We’ve set up a chat on Monetizing Your Blog with KariAnne, a blogger who earns 6-figures a year with her blog, a Periscope chat with Kristen, a Periscope expert and more!  We’re still finalizing some of the chat details so stay tuned as we update the schedule for the Blog Staycation weekend.

We’re giving away a referral prize!  Share the Blog Staycation with all of your blogging friends and the blogger with the most referrals will win an Amazon gift card!  We’ll know you referred other bloggers because when they sign up they’ll include your name and you are welcome to snag any of these images and share them in your own blog posts about Blog Stacyation. There are other giveaways as well, but we can’t tell you everything ahead of time 😉
