Here are at Girl on the Move there are three things I share about: Travel, Reading and Teaching. This is the home page for all things teaching related including my favorite teaching tools, resources I’ve created for my students and what I’ve learned along the way. I’ve taught 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade in three different schools, both public and private. So I’ve accumulated a number of teaching tools along the way!

Teaching Tools: Flexible Seating
I use full flexible seating in my classroom and absolutely love it! When I first started I kept about ten desks in my classroom. Then over the first few months of flexible seating I slowly took those desks out until I was left with zero desks.
Teaching Tools: Writing Resources
If you’re looking to help your students, or kids at home, with writing, this is the section for you! Up first is a short unit on persuasive writing. This walks kids through the steps from brainstorming to final draft. You can head over to YouTube to watch. The level of difficulty can be adjusted depending on the age of the student from about mid-2nd grade to 4th or 5th grade.
