Tour Through Blogland
Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of the blogs you follow? Like, what are these bloggers like in real life? So when Heather from Krafts and Kiddos asked me to join the Tour Through Blogland, I said yes for a couple of reasons…
One, it gives me the opportunity to introduce you to a few more of my favorite bloggers (if you missed the bloggers I’ve already introduced you to, head HERE and HERE)
Two, it gives you a small peek at my life…in case you’ve ever wondered!
So what exactly is a Tour Through Blogland? It’s a tour of blogs where each blogger shares a glimpse into their life behind their blog. At the end of my post I’ll pass the tour on to another amazing blogger who will continue the tour next week…so make sure you head over to her blog!
I absolutely love cupcakes and if you stop by my blog on Wednesdays, I’m sure you’ve seen my most recent cupcake adventures. And while I am no professional photographer, the pictures are at least pretty decent. But that’s because they are edited! This is what the set up looks like while those pictures are being taken.
I often forget that so many bloggers have day jobs that they do outside of blogging…and the same is true for me! By day I am a consultant with Thirty-One Gifts and not only do I love my job but I have had some pretty great experiences in the last five years. Last year I got to have my story featured in our mini catalog, this summer I got to speak in front of 6,000 people and every day I have the chance to make a difference in the lives of women…basically, my job is awesome!
What am I working on?
Right now I am in the middle of a really big blogging project…I’m co-hosting a Blog Staycation! There are a lot of great bloggers participating and I can’t wait to see everything we check off our blogging to do lists! And let me tell you, you’ll want to come back to the blog on Monday to check out some great new stuff! I am also working on a new series for this Fall that I think is going to be just amazing…or at least I’m excited about it! And I just launched a Training Thursdays series with a few other bloggers so you’ll have to check that out!
How does my work differ from those in my genre?
I think the biggest way my work is different is just in the variety that I cover…I haven’t come across any other blogs where there three big topics are fitness, travel, and cupcakes. But if you know of a blogger who blogs about that, let me know because I’ll bet they’re my long-lost twin!
Why do I write/create what I do?
I blog for one reason. To inspire others. I am a huge believer in not just dreaming big but in going out and chasing those dreams so I write this blog to inspire others to go out and dream big, chase their dreams, try new things, step outside of their comfort zone and meet new people.
What is your writing process?
I write when inspiration hits! I have an idea of what I’m going to be posting for the next few months but I don’t have a set writing schedule! One day this week I wrote four posts and then the next day I wrote zero. It all works out though! As for my Links I’m Loving series, I plan out the topics a couple of months in advance and then in the weeks leading up to the post whenever something pops up on Twitter or Pinterest or my blog feed, I add it to my list!
Now I’d like to introduce you to Joanna from Motherhood and Merlot
Stop by and visit Joanna for some great (and inexpensive!) wine reviews! Joanna enjoys…
-Spending time with my family and watching my girls grow up brings me the most joy I have ever felt in my life.
-My husband thinks I have an unhealthy love for shopping, especially when it comes to clothing and beauty products. I think it’s perfectly fine!
-I love a good cup of coffee or a nice glass of wine… they are equal in my heart!:)
You can connect with Joanna on her blog, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, and Bloglovin’
As we wrap up these few weeks of introducing you to new bloggers, I’d love to hear more suggestions of blogs I should go and visit!

I’ve been so busy with the Blog Staycation thing, I thought I should stop by and check out this lovely host. What a wonderful way for me to really “meet” you!
I love your reason for blogging. My reason for blogging initially was boredom but now it has grown to encompass so many other things.
Thanks for sharing (and thanks so much for all your work on the blog staycation).
Wishing you a lovely (and productive) weekend!
xoxo

I loved hearing about your writing process. Some people are planners. Others write when inspired. I’m not sure where I am on the scale yet…

I think some people are a mix of both!
